CACCAC (Converter Accessory Corporation) adds a new chuck to its line of COR-LOK air and mechanical chucks. The COR-LOK-XE pneumatic chucks feature a tubing (bladderless) design, contoured to match the geometry of the spiraled shaft body. The contoured tubing allows exceptional, even gripping torque across the full length of the chuck, a long tubing life and easy replacement. To inflate, they only require 70 PSI and can handle up to 120 PSI. The COR-LOK-XE model air chuck utilizes a pneumatically expanding, spirally wrapped external element to engage the core. CTC InternationalCTC International introduces its Model VTR “Value” Turret Rewinder for non-stop winding of label and tag stock. The machine is designed to wind rolls up to 10" diameter on core sizes ranging from 1" to 3" I.D. This turret can provide core glue, tail glue and roll eject features using only two drives to operate 3 winding spindles. It operates directly in line with a press, providing single pass non-stop finished roll label production. The Turret can also be used for off-line finishing applications. Standard features include: automatic core glue, automatic tail glue, doctor blade glue wheels, PLC control, automatic swing back core stop, fast operator learning curve, and there are no mechanical press connections required. Mark AndyMark Andy introduces the XP5000 featuring shaftless design. The company says the XP5000 delivers productivity with unmatched drying capabilities and a design built for around-the-clock operation. Advanced closed loop auto-registration and tension control systems ensure tight process control at high speeds. The XP5000 also allows the converter to independently pace each print station throughout the press, a critical process for multi-web construction and lamination applications. A platform design, the Mark Andy XP5000 provides the capacity to perform flexo, UV flexo, cold foil, hot foil, screen and interstation diecutting all within the same printhead. NimCorNimCor has introduced the Ajusta-Bow. The apex of an Ajusta-Bow bowed roll can be adjusted while in use to optimize web handling and performance. The Ajusta-Bow improves web control by evenly distributing lateral tension across the web, aiding in the separation of slit webs, or the elimination of slack edges, soft spots and wrinkles. Bow curvature can be manually adjusted while running to meet variations in different web weights, grades, tensions and materials. Ajusta-Bows are available in diameters up to 71⁄2" with a full range of cover compounds, pedestal or flange mounts, as well as an optional drive pulley. Fixed bowed rolls are also available from NimCor. NimCor Nashua NH USA 888-464-6267 www.nimcor.com |
PrimeraPrimera Technology has introduced its LX200 label printer. The LX200 utilizes the latest in monochrome high-speed inkjet printing technology. With 1200 dpi print resolution, the printer has almost six times as many dots per inch as most thermal transfer bar code printers. It prints onto labels, tickets, tags and coupons for a wide range of applications, including those in which higher levels of security, confidentiality and durability are required. Unlike thermal transfer printers, the LX200 uses an inkjet print head instead of ribbons. LX200 is shipped with label creation layout software called NiceLabel SE. Supported bar codes include linear and, optionally, 2D bar codes such as PDF417. Primera Technology Plymouth MN USA 800-797-2772 www.primera.com |
Sensor ProductsSensor Products introduces Mini Sigma-Nip, an electronic nip analysis system that measures roller profiles and diagnoses roll alignment. The technology for Mini Sigma-Nip derives from Sigma-Nip, which characterizes roller profiles for larger rolls. Mini Sigma-Nip, which measures nip widths of rolls with circumferences smaller than 20" (51cm), can also diagnose and measure larger hard rolls that have narrow contact upon closing. In Mini Sigma-Nip, the sensors capture data and record nip width readings while being viewed on a laptop or computer that has been connected through wireless or USB.
