Mark Andy Enters Inspection Rewinder Market

February 16, 2005

Mark Andy, the US based narrow web press manufacturer, has branched out into a new line of equipment with the launch of the VSR300 inspection slitter rewinder. The introduction is part of the company’s goal of becoming a single-source supplier to the industry.

The VSR300 — the initials stand for Verify, Slit, Rewind — offers a modular design and an array of options for configuration to different applications. It is available in several web widths and can be built to run pressure sensitive substrates and unsupported films.

“Finishing equipment is the natural extension of the process after the printing of labels,” says Mark Andy President Paul Brauss. “Our equipment manufacturing expertise and global support network is ideal for adding this critical component to our product line. With extensive experience in web transport and quality narrow web manufacturing, Mark Andy is an ideal fit to develop a ‘total solution’ for the press room. In addition, as converters continue to stream line their efforts and look more toward lean manufacturing practices, Mark Andy can now be the single source supplier for common equipment designs, technical service, support and troubleshooting.”

Next to be unveiled will be the VSR300D, a diecutting model. Future models will address custom and high end applications, says Brauss, as well as an economical model to support all demands of the marketplace.
