Simco, a manufacturer of static control systems, celebrates 70 years in business. Founded in 1936 by Hortense and Julius Simons, Simco started in a one room shop in Philadelphia. Today, Simco has offices in Kobe, Japan; Lochem, Holland; and its headquarters in Hatfield Township, PA, USA.
The static control systems that Simco manufacturers are used in a variety of applications including electronics assembly, semiconductor and flat panel display manufacturing, printing, packaging, plastics, medical devices, automotive, and the converting of paper, film and foil.
In 2005, Simco was awarded Employer of the Year by Montgomery County. The award recognized Simco’s 15-year relationship with Indian Creek Industries, which offers employment programs for the mentally challenged and offers training on a variety of hand assembly jobs, as well as on jobs requiring tools powered by compressed air. Over the past 15 years, Simco has utilized the services of Indian Creek Industries for light assembly work and kits.
