Four US label converters were named the “Best Managed Companies” this week by the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute. The annual Eugene M. Singer Awards, which recognize top label companies in four size categories, were presented March 7 at TLMI’s annual converter meeting, held this year in Half Moon Bay, CA, USA.
The awards, which are considered to be the top prize for converter members of the association, are based on results of TLMI’s annual ratio study, which examines and compares individual companies’ performance against others in their sales volume size categories.
The awards, for performance in 2005, were presented to companies that had received them in the past, several of them many times before. They are:
• Stixon Labels, of Albuquerque, NM, in the small company division (under $6 million in annual sales). This is the second consecutive Singer award for Stixon.
• LG International, of Portland, OR, in the mid-range category ($6-$15 million in sales). LG had previously won the award for four consecutive years, from 1993 through 1996.
• Consolidated Label, of Longwood, FL, in the medium size category ($15-$35 million). This marks the fourth consecutive year that Consolidated has won the award.
• Belmark, of De Pere, WI, in the large company category (above $35 million). The award is Belmark’s seventh.
