DiTrolio Flexographic Institute, of Broadview, IL, USA, has earmarked three scholarships for participants in the 2006 International Phoenix Challenge Flexo Skills Competition. The scholarships will provide education to students at the school, which is located in the Chicago area.
“At DiTrolio, we share the Phoenix Challenge Foundation’s passion for flexo education. We are excited about this venture, and delighted to welcome these students,” says Sara Gallagher, project manager at the institute.
The institute is offering one full scholarship and two $1,000 scholarships to high school students who participated in the Phoenix Challenge competition this past March. The scholarship winners can choose from a variety of specialized seminars offered by the institute.
“This is an amazing opportunity for these students to increase their skills and enrich their career options,” says Bettylyn Krafft, Phoenix Challenge Foundation chairman. “We are grateful to the DiTrolio Flexographic Institute for its generosity and vision!”
The DiTrolio Flexographic Institute was founded to meet the flexographic industry’s need for quality off-site training to counter the problems of on-the-job training: wasted production and equipment time, wasted raw materials, and inconsistent skill sets. The institute offers industry-specific training seminars for all skill levels — from beginning press operations to advanced printing applications — and features a state-of-the-art environment where new press operators and seasoned industry professionals alike can gain hands-on exposure to printing and finishing processes.
