“Packaging Revolution” is the name of the technical seminar scheduled for April 2 and 3 at the Technology Center of Omet, a press manufacturer headquartered in Lecco, Italy. The event will see the launch of the new VARYFLEX-F1 press, as well as print demos on different materials.
The event is being held in cooperation with several of Omet’s partners, including Sun Chemical, AVT, ExxonMobil, Kurz, Stora Enso, Asahi, Karville, and Alphaterm.
The VARYFLEX-F1, a completely renewed model in design and performance, allows a remarkable reduction of wastes and setup times, according to the company. The machine will be equipped with a rotogravure unit by Omet and a cold-foil unit to print on plastic film. Omet will offer visitors the opportunity to compare all print applications, demonstrating three different machine models printing a variety of substrates, including polypropylene, self-adhesive paper, PVC, and light carton.
Those interested in attending may visit http://openhouse.omet.eu, e-mail comm@omet.it, or call +39 0341 284661.
Omet recently received the Innovation Award at the Confindustria Awards for Excellence, a recognition of the company as one of Italy’s most innovative. The award was presented to Omet President Angelo Bartesaghi by Italian President Luca Cordero di Montezemolo.
The company was selected after analysis of its processes for generating innovation, such as investment, patents and use of human resources. The judging panel also looked at the results of Omet’s innovative activity in relation to factors typically controlled by the R&D department, and those that indicate the company’s competitive and economic performance.
“I am very proud that Omet has been chosen for this prestigious award, particularly in the area of innovation,” says Bartesaghi. “Our history is a continual path of research and development that aims to provide the market with technology for improved performance in printing and converting. This award is international recognition of the deep commitment that stems from the very DNA of my company.”
