After eight years as president and general manager of XSYS Print Solutions, the narrow web ink company, Ewald Draaijer has announced that he will leave the company to pursue other activities. During his tenure, Draaijer has led the division’s expansion into new markets, two joint ventures and an acquisition. He has been instrumental in creating the company’s global presence.
“It has been a fantastic time, but it is time for me to pursue other activities,” says Draaijer. “I’m most proud of the team of entrepreneurial and innovative people I’ve had the benefit of being part of. We have created a truly global team which provides unequalled local technical support that constantly drives the business by providing immediate answers to our customers’ problems. The focus and dedication of our people plays an important role in the responsiveness we offer our customers.”
Draaijer will be succeeded as XSYS president by Russell Joyce, who is currently VP narrow web and general manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and South America. Joyce began in the ink industry in 1991 in England. He joined the ANI narrow web group in 1997 and has held both technical and market development roles since. He has been instrumental in the continued growth of the XSYS business in his region and under his leadership, the group’s market share has grown substantially.
“It is an exceptional good base to start from,” says Joyce. “I will continue to strengthen this team and we will not stop our endeavors to continue to strengthen our position as the best narrow web ink company in the world. We know where we can further strengthen our service capabilities, and further improve on our systematic approach to push the boundaries of narrow web technology. We will continue to strengthen the one-stop ink shop concept for the industry that masters all techniques for narrow web label and packaging printing.”
XSYS Print Solutions, headquartered in Sweden, is part of Flint Group. It employs 400 people and operates from 40 locations throughout the USA, Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and Africa.
