Kodak is expanding its package printing portfolio to include digital flexographic plates manufactured by MacDermid Printing Solutions. The addition of the plates enlarges Kodak’s product offering to include workflow, proofing, digital plate imaging, and printing plates.
According to the agreement, announced at the FFTA Info*Flex Show in Montreal, Canada, Kodak will offer MacDermid’s Digital MUST, Digital RAVE and Digital EPIC printing plates to customers worldwide. In addition to the three plates, Kodak will also sell MacDermid SOLVIT QD plate washout solution and platemaking equipment.
“To grow revenue and increase profit, package printers are looking for consistent, stable, repeatable print that delivers high impact results on the store shelf,” says Vic Stalam, director of market segments and VP of Packaging Products for Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “This agreement with MacDermid will make it easier for our customers to access a complete digital solution including workflow, proofing, imaging, and plates to exceed expectations.”
“Our flexographic printing plates have enjoyed much success in North America and Europe helping package printers improve quality, reduce turnaround time and exceed customer expectations,” says Daniel H. Leever, chairman and CEO of MacDermid. “This agreement with Kodak is important to MacDermid because it expands our reach and ability to help packaging customers around the world.”
Kodak’s headquarters is in Rochester, NY, USA. MacDermid is based in Atlanta, GA, USA.
