Lewis Label Products, of Fort Worth, TX, USA, has announced the installation of a digital plate imager. The Esko CDI 2530 was successfully lowered through the equipment hatch in the prepress department roof with a crane. Training and calibration is complete and digital plates are being produced and used for all flexographic presses. The transition of rotary letterpress plates to digital plates will begin next month, according to a company announcement.
The acquisition of the CDI 2530 completes Lewis Label’s transition to an all digital prepress workflow that began last year. The transition began with the installation of new prepress workflow software and raster image processor (RIP), followed by the installation of a thermal plate processor for flexographic plates, a new water wash out plate processor for rotary letterpress plates, a new plate exposure unit and a digital inkjet dot proofer.
Lewis Label Products is a leading producer of pressure sensitive labels and flexible packaging products serving customers nationwide since 1964. Lewis Label’s focus on service is backed up by its quality management system, which is ISO 9001:2000 registered.
