Inc. magazine has generated its Top 5,000 list of fastest growing private companies in the United States, and five label converting firms are on the list. First among them, in position No. 126, is Quality Label of Elk River, MN.
The second label company is Lightning Labels, a digital-only converter based in Denver, CO, ranked No. 657. Founder Peter Renton writes the Blogsmith column in L&NW.
The other three are Universal Label Technologies of Attleboro Falls, MA (No. 3,267); Tailored Label Products of Menomonee Falls, WI (No. 3,853); and A&B Labels & Printing of El Paso, TX (No. 4,172).
Inc. magazine says that its Top 5,000 list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2003, and able to show four full calendar years of sales. They had to be US-based, privately held and independent (not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies) as of December 31, 2006.
