AB Graphic International has announced the development of Braillemaker One, a dedicated digital printing machine for Braille. Launched at Labelexpo Europe, the machine is aimed primarily at the production of pharmaceutical labels, leaflets and booklets and can also be used for any packaging markets where Braille marking is required.
The compact web path ensures that no booklets will be dispensed during operation and is controlled by a servo motor and a constant tension vacuum plate. Unwind and rewind units are configured in a cassette system to support any roll of labels and allowing core diameters from 40 mm (1.6”) and up. The rewind cassette is designed to completely detach from the shaft and stabilize the wound roll until secure on a table or fed into the next operation.
Braillemaker One is capable of handling web widths of 150mm or 330mm (6” or 13”) with a maximum roll diameter of 450mm (17.75”) at speeds up to 35 meters per minute (115 fpm). Options available include, slitting, secondary rewinding, vision inspection for Braille verification, and UV curing.
