Short run digital color, a strong theme at Labelexpo Europe this year, was championed by EFI/Jetrion, which gave European converters their first look at the company’s 4000 inkjet series. VP Ken Stack described the press as “cost effective for short to medium runs”.
The 400 series, introduced at Labelexpo in Chicago last year, comes in a 4" (102mm) wide version, with an 8" (203mm) model to come next year. It prints using up to six colors at speeds ranging from 50 to 100 feet per minute.
Stack also said that Jetrion’s 3025 inkjet system, which mounts on the press for application of variable data, now is available in widths ranging from 2.4" (61mm) to 14.4" (366mm).
