Pazazz, a printing company based in Montreal, QC, Canada, has announced that its integrated label company, Phase 2, has earned FSC certification. The accreditation, says the company, is the first for a label converter in Quebec and the second in North America to offer FSC-certified labels.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a non-profit organization, created in 1993, promoting environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests. FSC certification is recognized internationally as the most rigorous environmental and social standard for responsible forest management.
Phase 2’s initiative is the latest in a company-wide environmental strategy that is committed to going green. "Pazazz Printing received FSC certification in January 2006," says Warren Werbitt, president and CEO of Pazazz, "and we were determined to offer our clients an FSC label option as well. Now we are leaders in environmentally friendly standards nearly across the board. We work hard at informing our clients about environmentally beneficial options and at promoting FSC-certified papers and labels."
FSC label certification means that Pazazz will continue to offer the same quality printed papers and labels, along with a full line of FSC-certified paper and labelstock. The current line of FSC-certified labels includes sheeted FSC-certified GoGreen Labels, EDP uncoated label stock and custom diecut labels. Pazazz is currently testing a coated face stock label to run on its digital and flexographic presses and will be releasing this product line shortly.
