Die-less cold foil adhesive introduced by Pulse Roll Label Products

Pulse Roll Label Products has announced the development of Coldfix, a UV curable, through-cure adhesive formulated for cold, die-less foiling

Pulse Roll Label Products, of Bristol, England, has announced the development of Coldfix, a UV curable, through-cure adhesive formulated for cold, die-less foiling on a wide range of substrates.

Commenting on the technology, Alan Day, Sales Manager stated;
“Coldfix is formulated to overcome the common problem of pinholing through improved wetting of the substrate by the adhesive and the uniformity provided by UV curing, says Alan Day, sales manager. “The adhesive is supplied as a single component product ready to use press side from the container. Using the cold foil process also enables the press to run at higher speeds with reduced cost as compared to hot foil applications that require longer dwell times with the higher related expense of heated dies.”

Coldfix is designed for use with the flexo process using an anilox roll to transfer the adhesive to a photopolymer plate in the selected image. The substrate is subsequently “printed” with the foil, which then passes between a nip roll and on through the UV lamp and cures the adhesive through the foil.

Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd. has been supplying the international label converting industry since 2000 and is part of the Pulse Group of companies. The company’s portfolio includes UV and water based inks, coatings and adhesives, special effect inks, press room products, and cleaning solutions.
