GIDUE, a manufacturer of label and packaging presses based in Turate, Italy, has named Drex-Chem Technologies its agent in Singapore and Indonesia. Drex-Chem, founded in 1987 in Singapore, is a distributor of specialty chemicals and other raw materials to the electronics market; chemicals to paint and ink manufacturers; presses, printing plates, doctor blades, mounting tapes, solvent recovery machines, and plate making machines to the printing industry, and plastics, resin, and rubber products for industrial use, toiletries and cosmetics.
“Singapore’s printing business is mainly offset and rotogravure based and oriented to the packaging and carton markets,” says Ivan Lim, sales manager for Drex-Chem. “Indonesia offers the highest potential for label printing in our regions. The health care label sector is very promising as it gives label printers higher margins of profit. The production of shrink sleeves for beverage and cigarette packaging is growing. Having said that, we see that the largest part of new investments is in opting for UV flexo machines, especially in the Singapore and Indonesian markets, where innovation and advanced technology is needed for the production of high-end labels, and GIDUE is a master in this respect.”
GIDUE currently has three installations in Indonesia and one in Malaysia.
