ID Label Inc., Lake Villa, IL, USA, has announced that it has signed a letter of intent to purchase the assets of Universal Label Technologies Inc., (ULT), Attleboro Falls, MA, USA. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"ULT has been a leader in the variable image, bar code label manufacturing for warehouse applications since it was founded in 2001. We look forward to building on the foundation that ULT has provided its clients for the past 8 years, and extending the product offering to help them grow their business under the ID Label banner," says Neil Johnston, president of ID Label.
William Powers, ID Label's vice president of sales and marketing, says, "The acquisition gives ID Label an expanded customer base of clients that have an ongoing need for LPN labels, rack bin location labels, retro reflective signs and installation services. The manufacturing and service offerings of ID Label will significantly benefit ULT clients."

ID Label will continue to maintain operations at the existing ULT facility and employ a number of staff at the Attleboro Falls location. A portion of the manufacturing operation will be transferred to the new 21,000 square foot facility ID Label will operate in Lake Villa. The facility is scheduled to be completed in September 2009.
ID Label manufactures a broad range ofpreprinted bar code labels and signs including library bar code labels to hanging retro reflective warehouse signs. ID Label specializes in laminated variable information, sequential bar codes, consecutive numbers, and multi-color process, including data file manipulation services and "Make and Hold" programs for channel partners.
