Nuova Gidue, a manufacturer of combination presses for the label and packaging market, and Smag, a manufacturer and a distributor of printing and converting equipment, have signed a contract for distribution of Nuova Gidue products in France.
“For many years we had a successful relationship with Gidue,” says Stephan Rateau, managing director of Smag. “French converters are very satisfied with the Gidue machines, and today we are happy to work with Nuova Gidue to support existing installations, and to propose innovation and creative solutions. It is good for our customers and for our industry.”
Federico d’Annunzio, managing director of Nuova Gidue, adds, “We must provide a perfect local sales and service support. The past dreams of globalization led to mistakes which must not be repeated. A strong local organization is fundamental to the French market, and Smag can provide a true first-class service. Successful innovation needs focus on an effective 360° partnership.” Gidue, the former press manufacturer based in Turate, Italy, declared bankruptcy in January 2009, and later in the year re-emerged as Nuova Gidue.
D’Annunzio and Rateau agree that “We have to go back to reality. Service, innovation and ideas are the best solution in the present competitive markets. We are looking for a long term partnership, we have known each other for many years, and we are confident about the quality that together we can provide to our industry.”
The distribution contract for the French territory includes the Nuova Gidue full range of flexographic, offset, and multi-process combination solutions, including the new press lines which have been recently introduced to the market (Short Combat, Master Combat).
