Consistent growth has led Flexo Concepts to relocate its manufacturing operation and corporate offices to a larger facility in Plymouth, MA, USA. The new building provides 30 percent more space and consolidates all aspects of production under one roof.
Growth of the company's TruPoint doctor blade business, the acquisition of MicroClean in 2005 and a new line of press-side cleaning chemicals have contributed to the need for more space, the company. Flexo Concepts recently added staff to its sales, engineering, telemarketing and customer service departments, and had been occupying two separate, although neighboring, buildings since relocating its North Carolina operation to Plymouth last year.
"We have had considerable success with our MicroClean anilox cleaning equipment since acquiring the line five years ago," says Kevin McLaughlin, president of Flexo Concepts. "The technology is popular with printers looking for effective, automated cleaning without the use of water or chemicals."
Sales of the company's consumable lines have also increased. According to McLaughlin, "While we have long been a dominant player in the US doctor blade market, demand for our TruPoint plastic and composite doctor blades continue to grow overseas, particularly in Asia and South America."
The move took place over four days in early April with minimal disruption to the company's manufacturing, shipping and customer service functions. As planned, the company shut down operations for only one day. "The move went off without a hitch, which reflects the quality and dedication of our entire staff and key vendors,” McLaughlin says.
