Durst Phototechnik Digital Technology GmbH has formed a new daughter company in Brazil, Durst do Brazil Techologia Em Impressão Digital Ltda., based in São Paulo.
In making the announcement, the company says it believes that the current growth in large format imaging in Brazil offers great business potential, and its direct presence will have a very positive impact on the Brazilian market.
The launch of Durst do Brazil, with its own structure, spare parts and consumables, will help to lower import costs, provide higher service to customers and further increase sales in this already exciting market.
Flavio Hirata, appointed CEO of Durst do Brazil, says, “I am proud to be part of a company that is a market leader in image technology worldwide and has an unrivalled reputation for innovation, quality and service. This is a very exciting time for me and my team, and I look forward to further helping to enhance Durst’s presence in Brazil.”
Based in Brixen, Italy, Durst manufactures a range of inkjet printing products, including the Tau 150 five-color press. The latest version of the Tau, the 150-8C, was unveiled this year at Labelexpo Americas to great acclaim by attendees. The 15-8C is an 8-color UV inkjet press configured with CMYK, white, orange, violet, and varnish and is capable of running at 157 fpm. The orange and violet are known as process color additions and they make it possible to cover more than 90 percent of the Pantone range. Another configuration option is the variable data printing module, which enables fully variable text, numbering as well as bar codes and images.
Durst also manufactures the Rotoworx 330 modular finishing solution aimed at the short run label print market. The 13” unit is based on semi-rotary diecutting and delivers registration accuracy of 180 microns at up to 160 fpm. In addition to the standard features, one recent machine was equipped with the new DIVA module – a digital varnishing module which provides customers with the ability to produce different gloss levels – high gloss, semi gloss, satin, matte, etc., with one fluid in one pass.
