Rotocontrol, a manufacturer of finishing equipment based in Ahrensberg, Germany, has made two recent sales in South Africa. Uniprint, a multi-discipline printer and converter based in Durban, has acquired a Rotocontrol RSC slitter rewinder. Multiprint Labels has purchased an RSC slitter rewinder 340mm with an added die station.
Liam Gibson, Uniprint technical/production manager, says, “This is our first Rotocontrol Slitter/Rewinder machine in the factory. The production team is pleased with the smooth installation and successful production results from the advanced S-Drive servo technology capability to run our unsupported film material. As our production needs continue to grow, we plan to utilize more Rotocontrol finishing machine technology.”
Chris Bobbert, Multiprint Labels’ managing director and general manager, observes: “Quality is one of the most important aspects of our business. To maintain our high standard of quality, Multiprint Labels invests in technology that will provide an equally high return in investment, which is why we selected the Rotocontrol RSC. The ability to inspect, slit, rewind and diecut our large variety of material on one machine is the type of versatility that we require to keep us at the leading edge.”
Ten Rotocontrol finishing machines were installed in South Africa in the last year at various converting operations. Rotocontrol is represented in South Africa by Rototec.
Uniprint (previously trading as Universal Print Group) is a full service provider in the design, manufacture and distribution of a wide range of commercial print products and services to corporate customers and institutions that have consumer mass markets or branch networks throughout Africa. Headquartered in Johannesburg, Multiprint Labels produces self-adhesive labels, unsupported films and papers, tags, hot and cold foiling, numbering, coupons, and sheeted labels.
Rotocontrol manufactures inspection, slitting, rewinding, and diecutting finishing machines for the narrow web industry.
