Impression Technology Americas has unveiled a desktop inkjet label printer from Rapid Label Systems which it says will print at 60 fpm. The Rapid X2 is priced at around $25,000.
Using Memjet print engine technology, the X1 is a roll to roll printer with a five color print head (CMYKK), delivering 744,000,000 drops per second through 70,400 nozzles. The print head is supplied by 250ml ink cartridges for longer run cycles. The X1 is also equipped with an optical sensor for pre-cut and stripped labels and is capable of printing at 1600 x 1600 dpi.
