FLEXcon breaks ground for new technology center

August 2, 2011

The new technology and innovation center will support R&D and future company growth.

FLEXcon, a supplier of pressure sensitive materials for labels, packaging and other industries, has broken ground at its headquarters in Spencer, MA, USA, for the construction of a two-storey 20,000 square foot technology and innovation center. The expansion will allow research and development teams to collaborate and focus on ingenuity and innovation and to develop new products.

Construction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.

“We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Spencer facilitysays Neil McDonough, FLEXcon’s president. “For over 50 years FLEXcon’s executive leadership has committed itself to providing the environment and resources necessary to drive open communication and ingenuity across R&D. Our employees, and specifically R&D, are the foundation of successful manufacturing in the United States. Innovation and problem solving are the seeds of our future success.”

“Unique to other buildings on the Spencer campus, the new facility has been designed to support the various demands of R&D,” says James Casey, vice president of technology. “The technology and innovation center will allow FLEXcon to develop new and different products and assure the highest level of product vitality in the marketplace. With the right tools afforded by this new facility, along with the inspiration and innovation supplied by our people, we can be sure FLEXcon will continue to expand its global initiatives for future success.”

FLEXcon is an adhesive coater, laminator and finisher of durable materials used in graphics applications, electronics and new products.
