A German appeals court ruled on December 23 in favor of Electronics for Imaging (EFI) in a longstanding lawsuit brought against the company by Durst Fototechnik Digital Technology GmbH.
"We are pleased with the decision by the German appeals court," says Bryan Ko, EFI's General Counsel.
Durst filed the lawsuit in 2007 and alleged that EFI had violated its utility model, an intellectual property right similar to a U.S. patent. A German trial court sided with EFI in 2009, as did the appeals court in December.
