Label Summit Latin America 2012, the region’s leading event for the label and package printing industry, is set to take place in Mexico, April 17-18, and for the first time will be held at the Hilton Guadalajara. Exploring the industry’s opportunities, burning issues and sharing best practice through real life case studies, the two-day event will include expert presentations, breakout sessions, table-top exhibition and welcome cocktail reception.
The first day will tackle subjects including global markets and the changing role of the label converter, as well as intelligent labels and packaging. The keynote presentation will be delivered by Darrell Hughes of Avery Dennison Corporation and will analyze the effects of a global recession and how businesses can develop new domestic markets and adapt to international changes. Other speakers include: Roger Pellow, Labelexpo’s managing director; ACOBAN’s Edgar Martinez Villarreal, who will discuss emerging market trends in the region; and Fabian Silva, president of AMETIQ, will be highlighting the current challenges and opportunities facing converters in Mexico and wider American regions.
Two panel discussions will give participants the opportunity to not only network, but to debate ideas and initiatives. The panel discussion topics are converter operations and materials. Additionally, this year's event features two streamlined sessions: environmental sustainability and materials and package printing.
The second day's morning sessions will assess the future of technology within the industry. Ricardo Rodriguez from Hewlett-Packard Indigo will explore digital technologies and how to meet the rising demand for short runs. The afternoon is dedicated to new opportunities for label and package printing. Presentations include Benjamin Perez of Multi-Color Corporation, who will showcase reverse printed heat transfer labels; and BridgerConway’s Alejandra Pouchot, who will share how to successfully develop innovative and unique label and packaging concepts.
A time-saving and cost-effective way of making new contacts, delegates will also be able to take advantage of the event’s supporting table-top exhibition. With over 60 key international and local companies attending, exhibitors include: Durst Image Technology, HP, Label Traxx, RotoMetrics, UPM Raflatac and Xeikon.
“We’re extremely excited about returning to Mexico and to be bringing this world leading Summit to Guadalajara," says Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director. "The Latin American market is continuing to demonstrate strong growth and with more converters looking at opportunities beyond the label, such as at cartons and flexible packaging, this year’s summit promises to share effective ways of growing business opportunities and boosting profits. A must-attend event for anyone in the label and product decorating sectors, Label Summit Latin America will also showcase new innovations and tackle the key issues facing the industry.”
Bookings made before March 23 will enjoy a 20% discount with two-day passes costing MEX $3,835. One day passes are also available at MEX $2,535, while expo-only tickets cost MEX $260. Delegates can register by visiting http://www.labelsummit.com/mexico/.
