Officials from the US Department of Agriculture and Ohio Rural Development offices recently toured 3 Sigma Corporation, a supplier of specialty custom adhesive and top-coated materials for the pressure-sensitive label industry. Visiting the company to view the results from a recent $2.25 million USDA Business & Industry loan guarantee were USDA Business and Cooperative Programs Director Judith Canales and Ohio Rural Development Director J. Anthony Logan. The funds enabled 3 Sigma to finance the purchase, transportation and installation of a 78-inch wide aqueous coater.
“Our whole purpose with business and industry loans and guarantees is to stimulate rural economies," Canales says. "Moreover, a top priority is enabling manufacturing and production to remain in and return to the United States. Our true value is to ensure that companies like 3 Sigma are able to stay in their communities and grow.”
“The addition of our new coater will effectively double our capacity, and we expect to add several jobs as a direct result," 3 Sigma president Tony Rowley says. "The USDA loan guarantee made that possible.”
