Mac Arthur Corporation, an international supplier of custom labels and diecut components, has announced that it has achieved ISO 14001 certification, the environmental management system standard. The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International standards. The ISO 14001 standard is an environmental management system (EMS) that provides the framework for organizations to identify and control their environmental impact and constantly improve their environmental performance.
ISO 14001 certification demonstrates that Mac Arthur Corporation’s EMS is operating effectively and in conformance with the standard. Additionally, it signifies MacArthur Corporation’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmentally-conscious business practices, including utilizing Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved materials and water-based inks whenever possible, and a filtrated waste-water system.
The issues of sustainability, environment and waste are challenges that are here to stay for the label industry. By implementing ISO 14001, Mac Arthur Corporation has committed to meeting the latest environmental demands of the industry and better serving its customers’ interests in sustainability. As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) who is also ISO 14001 certified, Mac Arthur Corporation joins a short list of companies in its industry that are at the forefront of this global movement working toward a cleaner, safer and healthier world.
"Our ISO 14001 certification is a significant accomplishment and validates our commitment to improving the environment. Certification to this international standard reinforces our efforts of minimizing waste and enables a cross-functional team to identify immediate initiatives to further reduce our environmental impact," says Jason Linton, vice president of operations.
