Primera Technology, a manufacturer of specialty printers, has given its French distributor LPS an award for "Most Beautiful Label Layout" for the second time. The contest was held during Emballage, the French trade fair. In order to participate all submitted layouts had to be produced with Primera’s CX1200e/FX1200e combo system.
A committee of industry experts evaluated eleven different label designs. This year’s committee, run by Marie Aubin – last year’s winner and owner of the French company Braizait Étiquettes – gathered the following experts from different parts of the packaging and label industry: Jean Poncet, editor in chief of Etiq & Pack; Franck Accornero, of UPM Raflatac; Andreas Hoffmann, managing director of Primera Europe; Jean Marc Raimbault of Manter; and Sophie Serrano, owner of pharmaceutical supplier and end user Waiora Serrano.
This year, first place for the most beautiful label went to company Concept Emballage and its label Cuvée Edelweiss. Committee leader Aubin presented the first place trophy. In addition, Cocept Emballage received a two-day all-inclusive trip to France's popular Compagnie des Spas, valued at 400 euros.
“The label layout convinces with its exceptional form and the combination of its detailed cut lines and the used label stock,” the committee said of its decision. “The design emphasizes the product and its value.”
The second, third and fourth place also didn’t go home empty-handed. They received premium-quality watches sponsored by UPM Raflatac and supplied by LPS.
Primera itself was rewarded for its continuous work in the label industry. The Emballage “Pack Experts Committee”, which was composed of 13 industry experts, named the CX1000e Color Label Printer a “Nouveauté 2012” – a new product novelty – in the category “Pack Innovation." Moreover, it then received the “Pack Innovation Award” in the category “machines, systems, equipment” and is presented on the ”Pack Innovation Area“ in Hall 6.
“Of course we’re excited to receive again this prestigious award,” Hoffmann said after receiving the good news. “There’s no greater affirmation of our work than this award.”
