Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) announced that its Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances (FIRST) 4.0 book and the all new, completely updated Flexography: Principles & Practices (FP&P) 6.0 are available as eBooks from the Amazon Kindle Store.
FTA Education Director Joe Tuccitto, comments, "We are delighted to expand the means by which individual users can now access these two resources. While demand for print editions remains strong, we recognize that faculty, students and professionals seek the portability and flexibility of accessing our resources via their electronic devices as well."
FIRST 4.0 details the methodologies critical for all members of the flexographic supply chain to improve quality and color accuracy, reduce cycle times, minimize waste and downtime, and facilitate producing a predictable, consistent result, printrun after printrun. FP&P, the newest addition to the Association's resource library, and also dubbed the "definitive guide to flexography," serves as the reference manual of choice for both beginner flexographers and seasoned veterans of the industry. Featuring more than 600 pages, 29 chapters and hundreds of illustrations, the book addresses the basic principles of flexography including press types, inks, ink metering systems and ancillary components; then delves into more complex subject matter like process control, design, process color and web inspection systems.
"Each page in either book looks just like it appears in the print version, with the same words and images in the same position, while incorporating unique Kindle features such as annotation, highlighting and advanced zoom and pan functions," Tuccitto says.
Both eBooks can be read on all Kindle tablets, Kindle for PC, Kindle for Android Tablets, Kindle for Mac or Kindle for iPad reading apps. All apps are available for free download from Amazon. Progress can be synchronized across multiple apps, so users never have to worry about losing their notes when switching devices.
The Kindle Edition of FIRST 4.0 is available for $49.00 and FP&P 6.0 is priced at $99.00. Both items can be found on Amazon here.
