Loparex has announced the expansion of its Eden, NC, USA release liner manufacturing site. Loparex has secured a 50,000 square foot manufacturing space located directly across the street from the existing 165,000 square foot facility, which currently houses multiple silicone coaters, a tandem extrusion line and slitting capabilities. The new facility will serve as an expanded, specialty slitting and printing hub. Specifically, the expansion will add manufacturing flexibility and enhanced service levels to customers that utilize high volume customized narrow width liners with and without customized printing.
The investment will create an additional 12 positions at the Eden facility. The transition completion date is set for November 1, 2013. The new facility will be ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and American Institute of Baking (AIB) certified.
In recent years Loparex has made major investments in capacity around the globe. In 2011, it announced the building of a new manufacturing plant in Rayong, Thailand which will officially open in September 2013. In addition, liner production capacity at its Guangzhou, China and Apeldoorn, Netherlands facilities has been expanded by installing new silicone coating lines and upgrades to existing silicone coating and extrusion lines.
Michael Apperson, Loparex CEO says, “The expansion in Eden further defines our commitment to being the global leader in release liners and films and investing to meet the demands of our customers. This expansion will greatly enhance our ability to better serve the needs of our customers who require specialized widths and print design on liners coated in our Eden facility.” Apperson adds, “we are also very pleased to continue to grow our business in North Carolina and to be able to provide more job opportunities for the Eden area.”
