Impressions Incorporated, a St. Paul, MN, USA-based specialty printing and packaging company, has announced the addition of a HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press. The Indigo WS600 press can print on a wide range of substrates from .5 mil films to 18pt. paperboard, offering a variety of packaging solutions produced on one press, the company says.

“The new digital technology will add to our current folding carton business while bringing new products like labels and flexible packaging to our customers,” says Mike Jorgensen, president. “Our customers will benefit from smaller inventories, quicker turn times and almost nonexistent make-readies, all while receiving the quality that they depend on us for.”

The addition of the press will create an opportunity for Impressions to be a unique packaging provider, “With perfect color registration we can produce small digital runs to compliment large offset runs, that yield little to no variance in color. Combined with printing labels, we can create color consistency across product lines to ensure brand recognition that many companies strive for. We believe that this will help change the way people look at packaging,” adds Jorgensen.

The HP WS6600 allows for up to 7 color printing on a 13” web, and Impressions has added an ABG Digicon Series 2 converter to work alongside the press. The ABG Digicon can add specialty finishes in-line to facilitate production including; cast and cure, cold foil, lamination, and a variety of coatings.

“We have the technology and processes in place to become the complete solution to customers packaging needs,” adds Greg Newman, process engineer.
