MACtac Roll Label secured Underwriter Laboratories (UL) Recognition for overlamination after printing on durable films with Environmental Film III No Wax Inks, now providing certification on the entire construction.
When using UL Recognized MACtac products, converters now have pre-approved compliance that they can rely on to ensure fast market access because of reduced costs and time spent qualifying substrates. Pre-approval means no new testing is required, only a paper transfer which can be submitted through an Internet portal, via email or phone. Using pre-approved products can save up to 12 weeks of inconvenient testing.
“New approvals on overlamination after the printing on durable films are a major advantage to converters,” says Kim Hensley, product manager, MACtac Roll Label. “For a flat fee, converters can adopt any UL-certified durable product for UL recognized label applications and receive approval for the entire construction—ultimately saving time and money to ensure fast market access.”
Specially designed for lawn and garden, appliance and nameplate, and chemical drum applications, MACtac durable films have pre-approvals on the entire construction including face material, Environmental Film Inks, overlaminate and thermal transfer ribbon.
The following six items are now UL approved with overlamination over the printing, which includes all colors, with Environmental Film III No Wax inks:
2-mil white polyester
2-mil clear polyester
2-mil bright silver polyester
2-mil matte silver polyester
2-mil brushed silver polyester
3.4-mil white vinyl
