MCC completes acquisition of two European companies

October 3, 2013

John Watson & Company Limited and Gern & Cie SA are based in Scotland and Switzerland, respectively.

Multi-Color Corporation has announced that the previously announced acquisitions of privately held John Watson & Company Limited and Gern & Cie SA have been completed.

John Watson & Company is the leading wet glue spirit label producer in the UK. Based in Glasgow, Scotland the business is ideally located for its key customers and complementary with MCC's existing Glasgow business (formerly Labelgraphics), the leading pressure sensitive spirit and wine label producer.

Gern & Cie SA is the premier wine label producer in Switzerland, located in the French speaking wine region of Neuchatel, with the same customer expectations and technologies as MCC’s existing French operations.

At the time of the annoucement, Nigel Vinecombe, MCC president and CEO said: "These acquisitions strengthen our leadership position in the large European wine and spirit label markets. We are delighted that both management teams will continue to run the businesses, allowing for the current owners, John Watson and Michel Quinche to retire after successfully leading their companies to the best in their markets."

Cincinnati, OH, USA-based based Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), established in 1916, is a leader in global label products supporting a number of the world’s most prominent brands including leading producers of home and personal care, wine and spirit, food and beverage and specialty consumer products.
