Mark Andy UK hosts BPIF anilox training seminar

January 22, 2014

The single-day event held presentations and demonstrations by industry leaders.

Mark Andy UK partnered with British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) to host an Anilox Seminar on Wednesday, January 15. This educational event featured a variety of presentations and demonstrations from industry suppliers including Troika, Cheshire Anilox, P.P.P. Digital Imaging and Alphasonics, as well as a full practical demonstration on the Mark Andy Performance Series P5 flexo press featured in the Macclesfield, UK, Show Room.

Supervisors, pre-press personnel and press operators made up the more than 20 converter attendees who received a complete education on anilox technology covering such topics as the history of anilox and its importance in flexographic printing, thorough inspection and cleaning methods, and the affect anilox selection and maintenance has on the entire workflow.

“Mark Andy is honored to have hosted such an important educational event for converters,” says Phil Baldwin, aftermarket manager, Europe. “We strive to educate converters on all aspects of the flexo workflow. While we stress the benefits of the Performance Series press design, minimizing operator steps to improve production consistency, elimination of long set ups and traditional die cutting bottlenecks, etc., the press is only a single component of the workflow. It is critical for converters to understand how all components work together to maximize productivity and profitability. This session was a perfect complement to the training and educational services provided by Mark Andy Inc.”
