UPM Raflatac introduces RafFruit Plus

March 17, 2014

This new labelstock is specifically designed for labeling "rough" produce, such as melons and pumpkins.

UPM Raflatac has introduced a new product for labeling rough food produce such as melons, pumpkins and squashes. The new RafFruit Plus labelstock applies a dual approach to product tracing and branding, and incorporates an adhesive specially formulated for food safety.

To prevent label loss, RafFruit Plus combines a foil backed paper label face with the RH 5F rubber hotmelt adhesive, which has a high coat-weight for secure adhesion to rough surfaces. Many other products for labeling rough fruits are exactly the same as those used for tire labelling, the company says. RafFruit Plus is purpose-designed for fruits, and the adhesive formulation is designed to minimize the risk of migration and maximize consumer safety.

A declaration of conformity (DoC) meeting regulatory stipulations for food uses is available on request.
