Digital Flexo Excellence is a system of technologies developed to “digitize” and “automate” the label printing workflow.

Italian press maker Gidue has announced that it has been nominated as a finalist in the shortlist for the 2014 Label Industry Global Awards. Gidue's nomination is for its Digital Flexo Excellence project, its latest technology launched for the label and packaging Industry.

Digital Flexo Excellence is a system of technologies developed to “digitize” and “automate” the workflow, set-up and run of a flexographic press for labels and packaging. Digital Flexo Excellence presses are designed to deliver high productivity, costs reduction, flexibility and consistent quality, with “digital” efficiency, repeatability and ease of operation. With faster changeover times, higher press up-time, and minimum waste, it wants to project flexography into a new era in the label and packaging industry, challenging Digital printing on quality, efficiency and profitability also in micro and short runs.

Federico d’Annunzio, President of Gidue, comments: “ Being part of the finalists’ shortlist is always a success. Independently from the final result, these kind of awards are always important for the spread of our technology trough the converters worldwide. It is also a further incentive for our Team, that everyday cooperates to find the best and most advanced solutions to refine the flexo printing process for the labels and packaging Industry.”

In addition to Gidue, the shortlist of the Awards for Innovation features Avery Dennison, Durst and Xeikon, CMC DayMark, ETI Converting, ITW Dynate, K.T. Labels, and Stephanos Karydakis. The winners will be announced during the Label Industry Global Awards ceremony in September Labelexpo Americas in Chicago.
