Italian press manufacturer Omet has announced the launch of JetPlus, a new digital inkjet printer, designed to offer high-speed, inline printing and diecutting at a speed of 60 meters per minute. After passing a series of field tests, Omet says the new unit has the ability to greatly reduce costs and will "open new frontiers to print manufacturers worldwide."
“Such a technology was still missing in the market and we are confident that converters will take the challenge of all-in-one pass production to improve their efficiency on small to long runs,” says Marco Calcagni, sales and marketing director of Omet. He described JetPlus as a flexible, economic, compact solution capable of the highest quality and productivity, saying the multiprocess printer should be capable of completing jobs that would normally require complicated machinery and equipment.
JetPlus has the ability to add flexo and offset groups for the printing of pantones and solids, digital for CMYK or pantone printing, cold and hot foil, screen printing for special effects, UV lamination, and die cutting and embossing. The system's 60 meters per minute diecutting speed is made possible by Omet's patented Monotwin Cut diecutting system.
