Troy, Ohio-based Spinnaker Coating, LLC, a manufacturer of adhesive coated papers and films, announced today the promotion of Braden L. Glett to the position of VP, strategic improvement. In this newly-created position, Brady is expected to lead the effort to develop strategies and capabilities that will enable the company to maintain and enhance its position in the PS industry, with special emphasis on converters whose needs aren’t being fully met by the industry’s largest producers. Brady will also be responsible for directing the efforts of the company’s operations scheduling and materials management functions.
In his prior position, with responsibility for the marketing of Spinnaker’s Roll products, Brady played the key role in the development and conceptualization of the Company’s Trimless program, which is unique in the industry.
The company also announced the hiring of Skip Brooks to the newly-created position of VP, Roll marketing & sales. In addition to acquiring Brady’s prior Roll marketing responsibilities, Brooks will assume the Roll sales duties previously performed by George Fuehrer, executive VP, who is retiring at the end of August. Brooks spent the major portion of his career working for 3M, where he gained extensive experience for the sales and marketing of a number of 3M’s world-class products into several end-use markets. He also worked for three years as global business development manager for Avery Dennison, where he focused on developing new programs and strategies for the health and personal care consumer package goods segment.
Commenting on the changes, Louis Guzzetti Jr., chairman & chief executive officer of Spinnaker Coating, says: “We believe that the changes we are making will enhance the company’s ability to compete in today’s challenging economic environment. Brady has both outstanding analytical skills and experience in the PS industry that will all allow him to be a catalyst for creating the constructive change Spinnaker needs to become even more efficient and cost competitive. Combining the Roll sales and marketing under the leadership of Skip will foster the coordination and cooperation necessary to enable us to do an even better job of meeting our customers’ needs."
Guzzetti adds that Fuehrer will be missed. He says, “Since joining the Company with me in early 2001, George Fuehrer has made an outstanding contribution to the evolution of Spinnaker into the premier customer service company we are today; without a doubt, he clearly will be missed. I am pleased, however, to be able to say that he has agreed to remain a member of our board of directors, which will allow Spinnaker to continue benefiting from his wisdom and experience."
