Prati invites open house attendees to 'Experience Automation'

September 4, 2014

The event focuses on all practical aspects of automation – from controlling label printing to optimizing productivity.

"Experience Automation" is the theme of a four-day event for label converters from September 17-20 at Prati Company's headquarters in Faenza, Italy. The event focuses on all practical aspects of automation – from controlling printing on label webs to optimizing productivity with a drastic reduction of human errors through standardization.

Prati's latest technologies will be on display and demonstrated at the open house, including:
  • The autonomous glueless rewinder STARPLUS, specifically developed for high productivity output in the label industry. It does not require installation of an inspection system, and enables rapid job changes within 3 to 15 minutes.
  • IML ATLHENA: a simple and economical line enables finishing of in-mold labels (IML) on both, monolayer and cardboard as well as plastic lamitubes combined multi-laminated aluminium for thermoformed packaging jobs. ATLHENA is designed to be fast, versatile, reliable, easy-to-operate and addresses specifically those converters that want to achieve a swift return on investment, reacting promptly to new market challenges in this rapidly growing sector.
  • SATURN Bidi is touted by Prati as an equally effective and reliable but simpler solution in comparison to PHARMACHECK for PS and BKL labels enabling bi-directional web inspection. This compact machine has large diameter reels and a wide web path that enables accurate positioning of faulty labels. It features automatic slow-down and dynamic stop at count end. SATURN Bidi offers the optimum quality/price ratio in this segment and today is the best on the international market, Prati says.
As a world premiere, visitors will also see the SATURN OMNIA, an "all-in-one" machine for finishing self-adhesive labels. It enables processing of IML film without support. Jobs, involving cards, paper and items such as reel-to-reel, reel-to-sheet or coil packs and much more can be realized.

Other machines to be presented will be the VEGAplus Booklet, SATURN and JUPITER, all catering to today's multiple requirements in the label market. The Open House in Faenza will provide an opportunity for label converters to see and experience Prati's technology for inspection and rewinding, as well as stroboscopic controls and digital workflow solutions for all kinds of label and flexible packaging production.
