Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials will highlight numerous innovations designed to promote shelf appeal, sustainability and product security at Pack Expo. The processing and packaging trade show runs November 2-5 in Chicago, IL.
To promote sustainability, Avery Dennison will unveil CleanFlake portfolio and the FSC-Certified portfolio. The CleanFlake portfolio, which includes Roll-Fed Sleeve constructions, is a range of label materials geared to advance the recycling of PET containers.
The FSC-Certified portfolio has more than 50 specifications certified by the North America Forest Stewardship Council and features paper facestocks commonly used in wine, spirits, dairy, and food applications.
The company will also reveal Clearcut S7450 adhesive and The Avery Dennison Craft Beer portfolio to broaden shelf appeal. Clearcut S7450 is designed for wine and spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. When paired with MDO film, S7450 allows for enhanced conformability when labeling unique, curved bottle designs.
The Craft Beer portfolio consists of paper and film materials with adhesives that stay on surfaces with heavy condensation.
Finally, Avery Dennison will launch DirectLink and FiberTracker to heighten security. With global counterfeiting on the rise and brands becoming increasingly concerned about their products’ security, DirectLink incorporates near-field communications (NFC) technology to send messages directly from the label to the consumer’s smartphone. This process allows users to instantly confirm a product’s authenticity.
FiberTracker is a paper facestock that can be scanned through QR codes at the point of purchase for authenticity validation.
