MacDermid Printing Solutions has announced the commercial introduction of a new digital flexo plate created specifically for coating and varnishing applications. Digital Max C, a product line extension of MacDermid’s Digital Max line, is designed for inline finishing in offset coating presses with flexo coating units and for offline finishing in coating presses.
Digital Max C has a thicker PET backing than traditional Digital Max, providing for improved registrations on coating stations. Digital Max C, a 78 durometer plate, is suited for various water based and UV coating applications. The optimized formulation allows for enhanced transfer capability with various specialty inks, varnishes, and spot and full coatings.
“The introduction of this new plate from MacDermid will help to broaden the capabilities of our customers by providing options to capture other business," says Heather Barrett, director of marketing at MacDermid. "Digital Max C will serve as a complement to standard flexo print opportunities.”
Digital MaxC is also fully compatible with MacDermid’s Lux Platemaking Process for even further enhancement of coating transfer with surface screening techniques. Additionally, Digital Max C can be dual processed, either in conventional solvents or in MacDermid’s LAVA Thermal Platemaking System.
Digital Max C is commercially available in a thickness of 0.045 in. (1.14mm), and in format sizes up to 50 x 80 in. (1,270mm x 2,032mm).
