Epson has released an industrial labeling printer with smart PrecisionCore print chip technology. Through a new partnership with ReThink Label Systems, a division of Labeltronix, the companies are trying to change how color labels are shipped and identified in their packaging.
The Epson C7500 embeds PrecisionCore printing technology that drops ink on labels without ever touching them. It self-monitors and notifies operators about issues with bar codes, text and color, and minimizing printer error.
According to Epson, businesses will have the flexibility to control their labeling operations with speed and ease. They will no longer need a pre-printed inventory of labels.
The printer can produce 20 million inches of printing before requiring a service, compared to 500,000 inches with traditional color inkjet printheads. It is capable of printing full-color labels at 11 inches per second.
The Epson C7500 is designed for private label branding and the regulatory compliance and supply chain optimization sectors, where product pictures, logos, color warnings and variable data elements are now required.
ReThink Label Systems has also just rolled out the Jet Express Program with a line of label materials for the Epson C7500 and other inkjet printers on the market.
“We’re excited to combine our 22 years of experience in label printing, materials and label manufacturing with Epson’s reputation as a global innovator investing more than $300 million in this breakthrough technology,” says ReThink president John Trail. “Epson has created a technology that really disrupts how manufacturers have been printing, because there’s no need for them to maintain an inventory of pre-printed color labels anymore.”
