When Mark Andy opened its new sales, service, and demo facility in Warsaw, Poland, it invited Kevin McKell, Vetaphone’s vice president of sales and marketing, to give a presentation on the concept and science of surface treatment to the press manufacturer's distributors and agents from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
Outlining the history of corona, and the pioneering role played by Vetaphone, McKell told the attendees that surface treatment is a technique that many converters do not understand. They know it is essential but don’t know why, nor how it works, he said. Touching on the science behind the technology, McKell stressed the importance of knowing what type of work each converter is doing or planning to do, and essentially which substrates are involved.
Encouraging a closer liaison between the two companies to ensure that customers enjoy the best service, he said, "Corona is not a 'buy, install and forget' unit – it plays a vital role in print production quality and needs to be carefully specified."
Responding for Mark Andy, Director of roduct Management John Howard stated that Vetaphone equipment is universally acknowledged as top quality, and that he is more than happy to fit it on any Mark Andy press.
