Precision AirConvey (PAC) has been working to support the communities of Northern Delaware through participation in a number of philanthropic events this summer.
On June 4, PAC employees took part in a blood drive held by the Blood Bank of Delmarva. PAC team members made the lunchtime walk to the drive, hosted by TekSolv on PAC’s corporate campus in Newark, to give blood for the cause. Donations from the drive will help support a population of 1.6 million people, as well as various hospitals and healthcare facilities, served by the Blood Bank of Delmarva.
Following the blood drive, sales and marketing assistant Paula Lanouette led some of the company’s athletes to Wilmington on July 22 for the Delaware Corporate FunRun 5K. Held at a YMCA in the city’s downtown, this event drew hundreds of runners to help support the Max Cure Foundation, which funds innovative treatments and research at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
PAC has already set its sights on two more philanthropic events. First up is the Saint Francis Foundation 5k Walk/Run, scheduled for Sunday, September 27. This event will benefit the greatest needs of Wilmington’s Saint Francis Healthcare system, including outreach.
Less than two weeks later on October 10, several PAC volunteers will assist with the Wilmington Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Held along Wilmington’s Riverfront, this American Cancer Society-sponsored event is part of the nation’s largest network of breast cancer awareness events.
PAC participants will volunteer at the event and also take part in a non-competitive, three-to-five mile walk. Precision AirConvey is supporting a cause that has already raised $20,629 two months before the event.
