MPS has confirmed the sale of a sixth flexo press to W&R Etiketten, a leading Dutch label printer headquartered in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The company ordered an EF 430mm web width flexo press with eight colors and APC (Automated Print Control) package, joining five MPS flexo presses currently running full label production at W&R Etiketten.
Signing of the sale took place during Labelexpo Europe in the MPS stand between Jack Willemsz, owner of W&R Etiketten and Arnaud Fleuren, MPS area sales manager, who then together raised a celebratory glass to their successful cooperation. W&R Etiketten has been a loyal MPS customer for many years, since the purchase of its first MPS press back in 2000. Willemsz had an integral role in the successful inauguration ceremony for the new MPS headquarters in Arnhem earlier this year, delivering a speech during the opening ceremony and selected to push a button that unveiled the new MPS Printing Productivity logo.
The MPS EF is a high-quality and highly automated multi-substrate flexo press, especially designed for label production and flexible package printing on thin unsupported film or thick cartonboard. The EF, MPS' flagship press, provides flexibility with optional converting units that can be implemented at any location along the press, using the flexible positioning rail system. The MPS iControl, Quick Change Die and Crisp.Dot technologies enable operators to maximize press performance, with ease of operation and reliability.
Founded in 1992, W&R Etiketten has grown into a specialist in the production of a range of self-adhesive labels, from blank labels to full-color premium designs. With five MPS flexo presses, two digital presses, diecutters, and their own prepress and design studio, W&R Etiketten is recognized as a significant player on the Dutch label market. In the food industry, where the company has its primary focus, W&R sees a growing demand for multi-color, specialized labels with applications requiring print on the backing or the adhesive side of the label.
W&R Etiketten ordered the new EF flexo press in response to this trend. "This was a logical step for us,” explains Willemsz. “We have experienced many years of exceptional support from MPS and are extremely satisfied with the output of our current five MPS presses. The new EF flexo press will enhance our existing range of print machinery and will enable W&R Etiketten to extend additional flexibility to our customers, with the ability to interchange production between our various machines. MPS is a pioneer in the narrow web industry, and we are honored to partner with them."
