Printing Industries of America (PIA) is currently seeking entries for the 2016 InterTech Technology Awards. Since 1978, these awards have honored technologies predicted to have a major impact on graphic communications and related industries.
Manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and software covering any aspect of graphic communications operations are encouraged to enter by June 1, 2016. An entry discount is available through March 31, 2016. Full details on the competition and how to enter can be found at www.printing.org/intertech.
The InterTech competition is conducted annually by PIA to identify the technologies shaping the future of graphic communications. To receive recognition, PIA says, technologies must be truly innovative – not just an evolutionary improvement on an existing product. They also need to enable printers to operate more efficiently or offer new products or services. Finally, the technologies must be commercially available, yet not in widespread use. In 2014, among the winners were EFI for its DirectSmile Cross Media technology, and Esko for its Automation Engine Connect.
Awarded technologies will be highlighted in publications, news releases, presentations, videos, and a special InterTech booklet sent to printing companies. Companies will receive their InterTech Star before an audience of industry leaders during the 2016 Premier Print Awards Gala featuring the InterTech Technology Awards at Graph Expo 16.
