Gallus invited customers to the first “Digital theme day” in Frankfurt am Main on February 18. Karl-Gerhard Amerongen, Gallus head of Digital Sales Europe, welcomed guests from the label printing sector who had come to learn more about the developments in digital printing.
Gallus invited Mark Hanley, an expert in the field, to give an in-depth account of the steady upward trend in digital developments in label printing and packaging. He focused on changes caused by digitalization, which will occur in all industrialized countries in the future, and the resulting transformation of the label markets.
In a case study, Thilo Heizenröther and Christoph Muhr from StieberDruck GmbH of Lauda-Königshofen explained how new areas of business can be opened up using existing digital printing know-how. This was followed by UPM Raflatac’s Axel Hartmann, who explained the challenges that substrate manufacturers need to overcome with regard to the various digital printing processes and described the offerings available to customers.
