As its third Xeikon CX3 digital printing press recently arrived for installation on the shop floor, CS Labels has announced further information about its expansion.
The new CX3 digital printer enables CS to print more square meterage per hour in order to fulfill ever increasing demand, as well as further improve efficiency. The company is also making some major improvements to its finishing capabilities, and it is augmenting and upgrading existing technology to enable the company to make further advances in the flexible packaging market. A brand new Grafisk Maskinfabrik inline foiling, embossing and spot varnishing machine has been commissioned to offer even more embellishment capabilities to client label projects. In addition, its existing Xeikon 3300 ICE digital press has undergone a bespoke upgrade to enable wider media at the lower fusing temperature, as the company branches out further into the pouches and soon-to-be officially launched carton sectors.
Additionally, the company has also boosted its sales capacity with the recruitment of three internal sales support staff in an effort to maintain its high level of customer service and expert client advice.
CS Labels is currently aiming for a target turnover of £5m and beyond, and this investment will support that as it continues to fulfill the growing demand for digital labels and stand-up pouches. Both sectors have increased exponentially as longer digital print runs eat further into the traditional flexographic and rotogravure markets, and CS is at the forefront of both markets. The company has won several awards for its work on innovation and printing capabilities and has been nominated for more this year. CS has been recognized for its work with Northern Monk Breweryand Winchester Distillery. The work it did with Northern Monk has also been nominated in the labels category in the 2016 Digital Printer Awards.
“As always, we like to push the boundaries to stay on top of our game," says Simon Smith, marketing director at CS Labels. "Anything we do is never without challenge, and I am proud of the team around me who work tirelessly so we can continue to delight our customers.”
