The Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (TLMI) recognized Spencer, MA-based FLEXcon and Mason, OH-based Constantia Flexibles for their environmental leadership during TLMI’s annual awards dinner held on October 18, 2016.
TLMI’s Environmental Leadership Award recognizes both a converter and a supplier member each year that consistently demonstrated a commitment to progressive environmental practices across a range of areas. These include solid waste reduction, recycling, waste or energy recovery, the implementation of new ‘clean’ technology and/or processes, or the implementation of an education program.
FLEXcon was recognized for incorporating sustainable business practices into its operations. Beyond developing eco-friendly products, FLEXcon implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) to reduce its environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency. FLEXcon has been LIFE certified since 2011.
Constantia Flexibles was honored for SpearRC, a cost-effective pressure sensitive label that is recognized by both the Association of Postconsumer Plastics Recycling (APR) and the European PET Bottle Platform (EPBP) to be fully compatible with the PET recycling process.
