Newman Labelling has appointed David Wills as European sales manager, where he will be responsible for territories in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
A mechanical & production engineering graduate, Wills began his career in the tobacco engineering sector as an apprentice before progressing into sales management. From there he moved to printing and coding solutions supplier Videojet, where he was a distribution manager for the Scandinavian region.
Wills' last role, before joining Newman, was in a sales capacity for leading UK automation company, Aylesbury Automation, specialists in advanced factory automation and robotic assembly and integration.
Wills sees the move to Newman Labelling, and the pharmaceutical labeling industry, as a positive challenge and looks forward to utilizing his engineering, sales and distribution experience to full advantage as he aims to improve lead generation and grow turnover into the next decade.
“Newman employs very few direct sales staff, focusing instead on a well established network of agents and distributors around the world,” states Wills. “This gives me the freedom to drive the business forward under my own steam and grow the network, particularly in previously unexploited territories.”
Established in 1943, Newman Labelling Systems has a customer base that includes the world’s top 10 pharmaceutical companies. The company provides a combination of service, accuracy and reliability of equipment, quality and speed of validation, plus the capability of engineers and staff experience. Newman Labelling Systems purpose built systems are fully compliant with FDA cGMP requirements and can be supplied with validation completed up to PQ.
