AB Graphic International will return to participate in another edition of the Xeikon Café Packaging Innovations 2017, set for March 28-31. The latest advancements of the Digicon Series 3 for modular digital converting will be displayed for event visitors in a range of end-to-end digital label applications.
With more than 1,000 digital machine installations worldwide, the flagship AB Graphic Digicon Series 3 will show its latest advanced modules in finishing equipment to an industry gathering at the Xeikon Café. Spot and flood coat varnishing, matrix stripping, slitting, non-stop high-speed turret rewinding and camera inspection with integrated workflow will all be demonstrated in a variety of self-adhesive label applications.
“In 2016, we launched some very exciting modules for the Digicon Series 3 and this is a great platform to showcase them in Europe, to a wide audience of label printers and converters,” says Mark Hyde, sales manager of AB Graphic International. “The Digicon we are exhibiting has a non-stop fully automatic turret rewinder, making it a truly complete finishing solution. As proven in the 2015 edition, the Xeikon Café attracts our ideal target market – digital press owners and those looking to purchase.”
As digital printing technology advances, so does the AB Graphic digital converting equipment, allowing label converters to find key differentiators in the ever competitive global marketplace. The Digicon is the result of over 17 years of development that continues to advance in the finishing of digitally printed labels and flexible packaging. A comprehensive range of time saving options are also available that add value to labels and packaging and enhance digital print.
Newly launched is the FAST Track die (Patent Application PCT/GB2016/000102), what the company terms as the world’s fastest semi-rotary diecutting system. Running at 150 m/m in semi-rotary mode with repeats of 100-558mm, FAST Track die was developed to meet the strong demand for higher speed cutting.
Other recent developments include the AB Graphic Big Foot 50 Ton hot foiling/embossing module, and a JDF/JMF management information system supplying job information directly to the machine from prepress, and relaying job information directly back into the customer’s MIS.
During the Xeikon Café, Digicon Series 3 will take part in live demonstrations of total solutions in a number of self-adhesive digital label applications, including durables, sprits, health and beauty, beer, direct thermal, and pharmaceutical labels.
